Frequently Asked Questions

How does Smile Bright White work?
Working from the inside out, the active ingredients in our teeth whitening gel penetrate your teeth and break down the discolored molecules deep within the tooth, removing stains to give you a beautiful smile!
Stains on teeth are classified as either extrinsic or intrinsic. Extrinsic are found on the tooth surface, and intrinsic are found between the micro-cracks of enamel and within your dentin; underneath your enamel. Only teeth whitening agents can remove the stubborn extrinsic stains and the intrinsic stains that cause teeth to be discolored.

Is Smile Bright White safe to use?
Certainly. Our teeth whitening kit includes the same active whitening gel ingredients as used and sold by dentists. Strict Australian laws ensure the highest level of product safety standards are applied.

What are the whitening gel ingredients?
Hydrogen Peroxide 6%, Glycerol, Propylene Glycol, Deionized Water, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Polyvinylpyrrolidone, Potassium Nitrate, Menthol.

Hydrogen Peroxide v Carbamide Peroxide
This is a common question and can be summarised by purpose. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down faster than carbamide peroxide, so it releases most of its whitening strength within the first 30 to 60 minutes of application. Carbamide peroxide releases about 50% of its whitening strength in the first two hours and can remain active for up to six more hours of application.
Therefore, hydrogen peroxide is best suited for short/daytime whitening, and carbamide peroxide is more suited to overnight whitening. It is not suitable for short-term application.

Can I whitening my teeth while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We recommend you consult with your doctor prior to undertaking any teeth whitening program.

Can I use the kit with braces?
We recommend waiting until your braces have been removed before starting your teeth whitening program.

Will caps and veneers get whiter?
No. Whitening your teeth will only whiten natural teeth and reduce visibility of stains.

Will this whiten stains caused by smoking, coffee, tobacco?
Yes. Our professional teeth whitening kit is ideal for users who have experienced tooth discolouration due to their lifestyle habits such as smoking, drinking coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chewing tobacco. It is recommended you avoid the main causes of teeth staining for at least 8 hours after each whitening treatment. Whitening prior to bed generally achieves this.

Will it make my teeth sensitive?
You may have experienced sensitivity while whitening in the past. Our whitening gel formulation includes desensitizing ingredients to avoid this common complaint. We avoid the need for a separate syringe of desensitizing gel often found in other kits on the market.

What is the benefit of using the the LED Activator Light?
The activator light emits blue light that triggers the hydrogen peroxide whitening gel to break down faster. This gives you a shorter whitening time. Our LED Activator Light is patented and incorporates 6 LED OSRAM LEDs which are six times more efficient and have a longer life-span compared to other cheaper market options.

What is the mouthpiece made of?
The mouthpiece that comes in every whitening kit is made of high-grade silicon, so it is flexible and suitable for all mouth shapes and sizes.

How long will my results last?
This depends on the lifestyle choices of each individual. Avoiding common foods and drinks that increase the likelihood of tooth staining will assist in ensuring you have a Smile Bright White for many many months. We recommend one application every few months to maintain your preferred shade.
